The Village is again Vibrant with lots of game sounds all day as children got their first term Holidays. They all came back with report cards with promising performances. We thank God for the gift of life, healthy and protection, and believe that the 3weeks holiday will be good to everyone.
Kids are busy enjoying with lots of games, attend church fellowships, and recently on Saturday, the Big girl's long time friend (Teopista) of Pr, George got married ,and our children were majorly involved in all activities... this was a good feeling to all our girls. Other activities being carried out are Music Dance and Drama training, helping mothers with the cooking and other domestic chores.
Another major activity last weekend was celebrating Winnie's Graduation after successfully completing her studies in Hotel Management and Institutional Catering. She was so happy to have achieved this and i, Rachel and Winnie's Grand Ma Mary attended the ceremony at YMCA.
After the function, we went into photos and then had our lunch in town before we headed to Masese (Winnie's Village) for fellow children in the slums to see what the Lord has done for her!!!
The next day (Sunday) was a celebration at Village of Hope where she gave her speech and thanked Hope Builders for enabling her succeed and there after served a cake to all people..Pre -School was there to entertain us with congratulatory songs, and all of it was crowned with a Movie Night on the Projector....Many Thanks to ALL who have been there and Still standing with Us in Holistically Taking Care of Children and Helping Break The Cycle of Poverty in Uganda.

Easter Under New Roof
Our Easter was celebrated in a new twist just after 2days when our main shade had just gotten a new roof..This was so awesome for us as we could no longer fear the abrupt weather changes of Uganda.
The day started with early morning preparations of food stuffs at 4:30pm in the morning, Mothers , big boys and girls were all ready to start the Day with lots of food stuffs like Chapatti, Matooke, Meat Rice, Ground Nuts Chicken and a like.. The boys were so much in chapattis and by 6:00am, all preparations were almost done!!
At 7:30am , it was time for Breakfast of Bread, Milk and Porridge before we could go for Church to celebrate with the rest of the Community the resurrection of the King of Kings. We were taught that whatever took place on Easter season, it is the cornerstone of our Faith and we should always meditate upon it.
From Church at 1:30pm, it was time to prepare for our long prepared and waited lunch, with noise from every corner of the houses , Kids grabbing their plates to much in the Main shade for the main Meal..The foods and Drinks were more than enough and everybody got too satisfied.
After our good lunch, it was time for the music to play with dancing strokes from the children and a few Mamas, "even the Heavy Down pour "couldn't stop us because now we're covered under a new Roof!!..In the evening, it was a movie night on our Big Screen which the children enjoyed most.
Our many thanks to everybody who had hand to see that Village of Hope and Home of Hope celebrate their Easter with a smile.. Thank You ALL.....

Our Week With Trinity Team
This has been one of the busiest weeks so far this year, But worth it... With our lovely Trinity Team of 18 Members from Australia, communities have been blessed here in Uganda. It has been a week of experiences with the Trinity Boys as many found out that there are really very many people in need of support in one way or the other.
At Village of Hope, the Team was welcomed by the smiling faces of the Village of Occupants and members were so touched to see a big community of people (Children, Mothers and Staff) happily living together in harmony. Games and Sports were held(AFL trained), Story telling and Story Books read..Some children told members their stories before getting a chance to be in Village of Hope and these were so strong and strange to the Team guys BUT ,they also told the other side of the Story 'HOW? Their lives have Positively Changed after Joining Village of Hope and this was so encouraging. Still at the Village, the 3Team members are doing maintenance work on the Village's Main Shade and they are to stay until Friday 14 /2017.
The Team in slums of Masese: Their Hearts were so much hurt with the appalling situation people in slums live in, and they could not believe that people still remain welcoming and cooperative in the community.
Hope Community High School, it was a joyous moment for the Boys to meet fellow students, see newly rebuilt Dormitory after fire, as the Funds for its reconstruction were from the Boys themselves back in their School. Tom also held a Workshop with the High School's Students Leaders about Leadership and this was good.
Home of Hope, The Team was also joyously welcomed by the Children and the staff, and it was a very touching experience to see Children with multiple Disabilities happy..and Boys did not fear to interact with them freely. They also did the painting of the wall at Home of Hope with the Help of children from Hope community and and those of Home of Hope... it was one of Tom Percell's best Days in Uganda
On Sunday afternoon, we held a farewell party at Village of Hope with lots of entertainment from the Village's Children Choir, lots of Drinks and snacks also graced the occasion...We climaxed it with dancing tunes at 7:45 and the Team had it's Dinner in the 5 dinning s of Village of Hope with the Children and mothers....Whole week has been good and whole Team was happy about the organization..
As Ugandan HBI Team, we appreciate Trinity Team for the generous Support..

Village of Hope Update
Our Dear Friends,
Kind greetings from Village of Hope....In this year 2017, God is blessing us as he has always done, the Village is fine and all children started their first Term of the year.
We also Glorify God for enabling us acquire a Homes' Approval Certificate/ Permit from the Ministry of Gender Labor and Social Development .This serves to certify that we legally take care of Children according to the new Ugandan rules, we're so blessed to be one of the 23Homes in Uganda who went through.
Back at the Village, children mothers and Administrators are fine, children are at school, and mothers are carrying on with their ministry.Children and everyone enjoy the balanced diet at the project as the stuation continues to be hard for many Ugandans in terms of high food prices. At the the village, we still maintain our menu with fruits, vegetables and eggs...We thank God for this!!
Staff prayers are regularly conducted and we've seen God's hand in this as we gather and Praise,Worship, Thank and Pray to the King of Kings' mercy, provision and other requests which keep Hope Builders moving.
Another update is that we now have a new Nurse on the ground and she is at the Village 24/7. Monic Kalende are her names and she has been working with Reproductive Health Uganda as a volunteer nurse. She is so happy to be part of Hope Builders.
As the new Term started, all High School Students received new Bags, plus all P7 candidates and are all thankful for this...
On the sad note, our partner School Hope Community High caught fire and all properties for 72 children and the whole Dormitory perished leaving them with nothing. We thank you all who have had a helping hand in ensuring that these children are helped to stay in School, may God Bless you.
Again we thank you for Supporting God's Work here in Uganda at Village of Hope...We always see positive changes in these children.

DTS (Holland) and Trinity ( Aus) Teams in Uganda
It's a New Year and has sparked off in high gear with 2 different Teams visiting Uganda Hope Builders International ..The Village of Hope, Youth Support Uganda and Home of Hope.
We've Discipleship Training School (D.T.S)Team of 6 from Holland, they arrived on 19/Jan, and Trinity Grammar School Team of 21 from Australia.
Both Teams are doing well and going on with the different charity activities in our Projects and the entire community at large.
The D.T.S Team is so much focused with Football Training with our adult and small Kids Team, they do it to both Boys and Girls. At the end of the Training, they extend Christian Teachings to enable children know the word of God through Testimonies and Bible Passages. They also go to outreaches with Pr.George to do door to door evangelism.....The Team is doing so well with all their time tabled activities and they are to spend 4weeks with us.
For the Trinity Team, which arrived on 23/Jan, it has helped in erecting a woven wire fence at Home of Hope, prayed games with the Village children, and Hope Community High School, including Australian Football which has been prayed for the first time in Jinja..if not in the entire Uganda....This was initiated on the Australian Day which was so amazing to the Team and we hope it will remain in History.
Trinity Team also visited the Slums of Masese and they were so much touched and had an Unusual experience of how life is in the slums compared to the life they live in.....They so much wished if they could do more. Today Saturday, the Team has gone for White water rafting on River Nile and their fare well is tomorrow on Sunday.
