Merry Making Schoolies Last Days

All went joyous with lots of Merry making for both the Schoolies and all those in Village of Hope plus communities at large. The last days of a two weeks and three days visit was occupied with happy moments........After raising House 14 to Beam level, it was time to have fun especially with the lovely Village of Hope Children.
It started with a Swimming expedition at King Fisher Safaris Resort on Sunday with all Children who love water 0000s and the Team members who were far better swimmers than any one in the pool. For the Kids, it's the best time of the year and they wait for it deary...Many thanks to Schoolies who helped the children enjoy pool water at ease ,you provided the safety for them since swimming is a luxurious leisure activity which receives less attention here in Uganda. We had good moments and the weather was conducive , then on our way back, we had a stop over to grab some Glucose Biscuits to replace lost energy.

On Monday, it was a football game between Schoolies and the African Builders at Jinja Christian School soccer field, this started as a simple one in round one but gained in 2 as Mzungus reinforced their defense and builders could not get through, it was more sweaty, and breath taking by the time it ended in favor of Builders.

Tuesday climaxed it all with an amazing farewell party which also called for the presence of Uganda Hope Builders Board Members. It started with the introduction of the Board by Hope Builders International Chairman, the Cultural Musical and Dance performances by the Village of Children's Choir neatly dressed in their new uniforms accompanied by our new set of instruments......These then followed by speeches, award certificate to team members, lots of Sodas and snacks then Mixed music and dances between team and children...it was a joyful moment!! Lots of thanks and God's Blessings to all those who had a hand in all what happened in the 2wks,3days visit to Ug.

Schoolies Revolution 2016 at Village of Hope

Hello to you all!!, and thanks to God for the Schoolies Team which arrived safely in Uganda on Monday 21.
The Team is on well,  and all planned activities in High Gear...Building of House 14 is now at window level, and Guys are seriously getting dirty as they help in Breaking the Cycle of Poverty.
Home of Hope has been visited and team was overwhelmed by amazing work being  done out there. It has also visited Welcome Home in Jinja Town , this is a babies Home and this was done on Saturday and after, it was leisure at the source of the Nile and Dinner in town after a hard week's work....

It's so far going on well with the Team and everyone at Village of Hope, yesterday on Sunday, our weekend was spent in a cultural interaction style where Children taught Schoolies cultural dances like Kigisu Dance(Kadodi) from Eastern Uganda, Kiganda Dance from Central Kisoga Dance from East. The day was so exciting to the Team and the Children, with the different " bone breaking dancing strokes" at least from one of the Team Members..The dances came to pick when our own Uncle Johann got a waist tie to try out the Kisoga Dance which he indeed tried!!!

Our Sunday and the week was ended by the Team Helping Mothers in the African Kitchens with cooking of Dinner....Schoolies had Hard time with the Smoky choking stoves of our kitchens, pounding of our matooke, cutting onions and chopping of firewood. This was so amazing for the Team members and all activities in preparation of meals truly different from what they knew..

GDG Visit as Children Start Term 3

In two days of Term 3, we hosted 2 Global Development Group members (Josh and Janet) who visited Uganda Hope Builders projects to see how progressive we've been and advise in any way possible.
It all went well , right from Village of Hope where staff welcomed them, and introductions were made to each other. For Josh, it was his first time to visit our project whereas Janet had visited before.
They had a look in the Administration office, and all what goes on in it like, the Clinic,Social work Department,Manager, and Coordinator's office. Here they were interested in Financial Flow, control and Reports, UHBI's Assets,Documentation, and Children's profiles which all went well. They advised us to make changes in our  Financial control system, and heading to more Technological means in our transactions like the use of EFT's use of Cheques all of which we shall evaluate and see how applicable they will be.
The Visitors also moved around Village Of Hope , in the Dairy Farm, Solar powered Bore for the Village's water,in the Children's Houses and the 2containers where we plan to have a Clinic open to the public. From VOH, Robert and William  took them to Youth Support Uganda, and Home of Hope and the whole visit was Impressive they Said.

Away from the GDG visit, our Children started their Third Term in their various Schools, thanks to Hope Builders for catering for these youngster's Education need, as i post this, all their Scholastic s needs have been procured and distributed to Schools, and Half of their Tuition payed.
From Nursery ,Primary,Secondary to University, all these Children are in School at the moment, we are so thank full because this is not the case for every Ugandan Child.....Let's continue to put our Children in Player, especially those in candidate classes of P7, S4 and S6 who are to sit Nationwide Exams competing with the soooo called best Schools in Uganda.
To the mothers, they are going on well with their ministry,  always have fellowships and meetings with Pr.George and the Management Respectively. There is more coordination amongst them like never, and they are more supportive which is good for the project.
The management Team is well, every department is doing it's roles, and we continue to have meetings and staff Fellow ships for better Team Work...Again many thanks to Hope Builders for the Support to Help Break the Cycle of Poverty.

The excitement and Joy at Village of Hope is in high gear as it's 4 primary School girls qualified for National Ball Competitions representing Jinja District on the Net Ball Team. The celebrated Youngsters are, Latifah 13yrs in P6, Oliver 12yrs in P5, Rachael 13yrs in P6, and Tracy 12yrs in P5.
They are all Total Orphans and were brought to the Village of Hope in very Vulnerable situations and no one knew that God had  a good plan for them as he always does for the people who trust in him. We thank Hope Builders International for the Great Work you do, the Hope you extend to the would be hopeless......And here there to National level , we hope they'll enjoy the whole experience and who knows? they can be spotted by big Teams including the She Cranes (Uganda's National Netball Team) !! Let's pray for good Health and safety for these girls.
  AS.........
It was  very competitive to go through as many loved and were so much eager but they did not make it...Thanks be to God for these Fantastic 4's. Most of the children lost out at sub zones, others at Zonal level.
It has been  a strainful training and they had to shade off extra  body weight as the rules take only those below 45KGS.. they have been exercising morning and evening to maintain the required weight range.
So now they are leaving to Koboko District in North western Uganda for the Nationals and the Games are to last for 2weeks.
We thank everyone who has been behind the kids;Jinja Christian School, Teacher Faith, and everyone out there, Many Thanks

Last Days of YWAM-Holand Team at VOH

The 8 weeks of outreach in Uganda by a team from YWAM- Holand doing Discipleship Training School (D.T.S)  was a real mission possible, and we had a reason to be happy for them. At Village of Hope, it started with Children who thanked the Team for the good teachings from members like Miriam, Wilma and Louren, lots of games', some were indeed new to the African Child but all was good and enjoyable. The devotions on Tuesdays and Movies on Saturdays were some of the things children will not forget about you guys.. and as i post this they still ask me request you come back again.
For the mothers, so thankful for their weekly lessons and the fruity ,chocolate party you threw to them as a farewell.
The Team also prepared a dinner meeting with the staff of Uganda Hope Builders, this was an amazing one with lots of speeches "African'" style plus Juliet's delicacy preparations of beef, rice ,mattoke and lots of fruits and drinks....After all that, UHBI Director Robert announced the award of certificates to team members as an appreciation for the whatever they have done to build Hope in Humanity and requested them to start being ambassadors of Hope Builders  in Holand and in the entire world. It was indeed a joyful evening.

We're sooo thankful for the Team for blessing us and  the community in which ever means (spiritually, and physically) may the Lord's richest blessings be upon you all........
