PRAISE GOD - as was said at the end of the last 'Race Across Australia,' "the race is not really over until we see smiling faces in the homes". Well now there are now 18 lovely orphans in the two homes of the Village of Hope. They are cared for by two wonderful matrons - Agnes and Lois (great biblical names). For Damian, Joel and Johann it was an awesome priviledge to see these children and their smiling faces in the Village of Hope 4 hours after they landed in Uganda, after 24 hours of travelling. The site looks great and Robert and Ivan have been doing some great work on behalf of HopeBuilders International. What we are witnessing now is a testament to all the prayers and hard work of many, the board members and the three teams that have already invested much in this work. We look forward to the future teams and the ability to complete more homes so that more of these wonderful orphans can be part of the campaign to "Break the Cycle of Poverty".

painter florence,busy

a lady busy at work

part of the wall of house b that was painted

Armed with the wall paper glue that we had and the instructions for mixing the paint, w
e emabarked on mixing the glue and the chalk, surely we werent betrayed, we had a good paint, we showed the ladies how to paint. since then, they've done an amazing job! they are quick learners. The paint is compatible with the walls, something that is good. house B is soon being completed.
i know how you are anxious to see the children and the mothers in the homes, this will happen very soon, thanks for your prayers and help. we apreciate all the prayers and support you give us. the inspector will come and go around the houses. already almost all things are now ready.

the village of hope

this is the new look of the houses, next week the ladies will work on painting the intnernal walls of the houses. what is unique abotu the paint is that we are using wall paper glue mixed with chalk and water.
The good thing with this paint is
-the paint is free from solvents
-improves with age.
-cost effective
-electrostatically neutral
-the brushes/rollers can be cleaned
-all ingredients like chalk are readilly available.
This produces a very good coat, its envirromentally friendly and its aklso one of the ways the widows wuill earn an extra income since they will be painting.
