The visitation
amidst the abject poverty.these kids can smile,their mother is disabled she cant take care of her kids,she had gone to church by the time we came around
some of the kids that caught our attention.
this helpless widow takes care of these two sweet girls,who are really highly vulnerable and at risk
some of these kids fiited our criteria.

yesteday we visited a slum on the outskirts of jinja town called kikaramoja,its a slum that actually is home to the street beggars that flood jinja town,alcohlism is a big problem,plus lawlessness in the area,the predominant pple here are karamojong pple(a nomadic tribe in the eastern part of uganda,they survive on picking scraps for the steel industry and also sending their kids to the streets to beg while their fathers drink,motality rate is high here from preventable diseases.Human feaces can be seen around since these pple have a belief that if you go the toilet you wont give birth,
i took johann and rob around families we felt really fitted the hope builders vision that is highly vulnerable and at risk children. we took some photos of these families. we will assess some families we idetnifies and then consider finding them an ideal home at village of hope. Children living in such conditions are at risk and vlnerable to many things such as diseases,early pregancies,aids and so on.

Something absurd happen last nite when thieves stole part of the fence,investigations are going on,continue praying for God's protection for the project property. The area has had a history of theft. however this has not discouraged the team from continuing a good job at the site!!
Today i also had an opportunity to attend ywams' day of prayer and fasting in which i was requested to share what we are,our vision and what our prayer points are.It was an awesome experience seing these men and women(Ywamers) from all walks of life in groups praying for the village of hope,lets thank God for the special relationship we enjoy with ywam.

More than one action shot
Here are some photos that come from Ben Vandenberg. As you can see there is action a plenty on site. Though it has taken a while to get things moving it seems to be happening now. The excavation for the admin hub is just about done and the holes have been filled. Please keep praying for the team, for renewed energy and protection - phsically and spiritually.

Brethrens!!
Thanks for your prayers, you recall that the team had arrived without their luggages,well they were later brought to ywam the following day so thanks for all your prayers.
Construction of the first house is on and the team’s enthusiasm is good. Continue lifting up the team in prayer that they shall have good health all the way, at the moment they are in good health. We need to also thank God for the weather. Let’s pray that it stays this way till the house is complete. When it rains it gets too muddy,the mud bricks would also take long to dry. hope it stays hot and dusty:)
Tomorrow we shall be visiting a community that is severely stricken with poverty, and we shall get the opportunity of identifying children who are vulnerable and highly at risk, just pray that the lord will direct us to the specific children(esp those who suit the hope builders' vision)

Mzunguz at work
Team 1 has been so enthusiastic about work on the site despite the scorching sun.
Its our prayer that all things will run as planned; the lord has been good.
soon we shall have energetic youth from the surrounding community join the teams; this way they could share experiences esp on construction
The unity amongst the team is evident; an aspect that has been very vital in the progress of the work on site.
