One week down
The 5th team to visit Village of Hope has now been here for one full week. During that time they have learned a lot about laying mud bricks, have battled through mud as it has rained most days, have enjoyed getting to know and playing with 16 beautiful children, and experienced something of life in a developing country.
The building that we are working on now has all of the external bricks in place, and another full day at the site should almost have the internal bricks done as well.
The food has met our expectations, and the accommodation is solid, dry and conveniently located next to the village. We have now enjoyed a little bit of R&R, including several trips to town and dinner at the famous "Two Friends" restaurant.

We still do not have access to the container of goods that were donated, and shipped to Uganda and have been sitting in storage here in Jinja for 8 weeks or more. Everytime someone asks "do we have one of those?" the answer is usually "Yes, but its in the container". It is rather frustrating to constantly confront this, and also to think that we really only have a week to get it before it will be too late for this team to be able to unpack it.

I feel your frustration Ron - but you guys have done some great stuff already. Don't let the container or lack of it be a thorn. It will happen and it will work out for the best, even if it is not how we worked it out. Be blessed Johann.

I hope and pray that you will see the Kingdom break through with the release of the container asap - for that will be the power of God over red tape. Gerry
To all you blog readers - pray some more
