The road construction almost done

The road construction is almost done and while this work has been going in it has put a degree of stress on our workers at the Village of Hope. The contsruction work meant that our fences had to come down and this put our security at risk, however, thanks to our workers and security guards this risk was minimised and we have reworked our fences to get rid of the timber posts that were being enjoyed by termites!!

There is still work to be done and we will be redoing all the fences around the whole property - this is a project that is seeking funding...

More on Medical Team and EASTER!

The Medical Team from Ali Shafa medical centre in Jinja as mentioned in the previous post, performed a form of medical outreach in our village.

The team started to prepare and joking with children and making the teachings about keeping their teeth, eyes and ears clean and safe.
The children were asked questions after teaching to see if they get what the doctors hard said, then each child was given tooth brush and little gift in cash after answering any question.
Treament started after the gifts and all children and staff body were worked on we thank God.
God connected us to Ali Shafa hospital in Jinja town and for this we are extremely grateful.

The staff body of village and children had lunch with the medical team visitors and then the team had to leave in happeness that they had done good work.

What a blessing to have people who are willing to help the children with love and care.

After  the team from Ali Shafa hospital left us, the following week was Easter. This is a  time when so many kids were happy as there is special food and drinks (a tradition that has to happen). This time however before the food and drink, we had the joy of celebrating the baptism of some children with help of Pastor George of Abundent Life church were the kids go at every Sunday. This was a great time to seek God as we reflected on God’s love towards us as humans. We had our 3 days of prayers and remembering what has been going on in the village as well.

We had a feast after the baptisms with the visitors that came from Australia on Easter Sunday and our children performed at our great gospel crusade in Bugembe. How good and great is our God!

Medical Checks and a New Road

We had a team from a medical centre in Jinja request that they be allowed to test and treat our children as a community service, this was indeed an answer to prayer and a request that we agreed to. The team performed a number of tests on our children particularly for HIV/AIDS and other blood group tests. We thank God so much all our kids are HIV free and well.
We look forward to continuing our relationship with this medical centre.

Our managers, mothers and children also recently spent a week of seeking God's Face and waiting on Him for ideas and thoughts that can be shared and become part of the future plans for the Village of Hope. Matthew 6:33 - Seek first His Kingdom and all our needs shall.....

The local council also recently started developing the raod that runs between YWAM and our Village there was quite some discussion as to how much land we may potentially lose as well as our fence, but thanks to God both were spared. The work continues and our kids and staff keep a close eye on it. It will be good to have this new road but it could mean more traffic. Our surrounding community is definitely growing and developing all since we started working there !

Update from our Village Managers

Our children ready for school.. they love going and learning. These young ones attend the YWAM Pre School.

Our chickens are doing well and ready for selling

Our chicken farm is doing well, these are a whole lot of young chicks that are growing up as broilers, they will be sold for meat and their main task is to make the environment ready for the next lot of chickens that will be layers. Laying hens are more sensitive and they will have a greater chance of survival in an environment that has been "cleansed" by chickens.

Our cows

Our cows are also doing well and they now are taken our and allowed to graze - while tethered. Which helps improve the quality and quantity ofmilk produced.

Our farmer Michael and his family are doing well and he is learning and becoming a great asset to the Village fo Hope. We thank Robert our village manager for coaching Michael and teaching him good techniques.
