Last Days of YWAM-Holand Team at VOH

The 8 weeks of outreach in Uganda by a team from YWAM- Holand doing Discipleship Training School (D.T.S)  was a real mission possible, and we had a reason to be happy for them. At Village of Hope, it started with Children who thanked the Team for the good teachings from members like Miriam, Wilma and Louren, lots of games', some were indeed new to the African Child but all was good and enjoyable. The devotions on Tuesdays and Movies on Saturdays were some of the things children will not forget about you guys.. and as i post this they still ask me request you come back again.
For the mothers, so thankful for their weekly lessons and the fruity ,chocolate party you threw to them as a farewell.
The Team also prepared a dinner meeting with the staff of Uganda Hope Builders, this was an amazing one with lots of speeches "African'" style plus Juliet's delicacy preparations of beef, rice ,mattoke and lots of fruits and drinks....After all that, UHBI Director Robert announced the award of certificates to team members as an appreciation for the whatever they have done to build Hope in Humanity and requested them to start being ambassadors of Hope Builders  in Holand and in the entire world. It was indeed a joyful evening.

We're sooo thankful for the Team for blessing us and  the community in which ever means (spiritually, and physically) may the Lord's richest blessings be upon you all........

Children in the Agriculture Show

The last 2 weekends treated Village children with a smile,, From the Visitation Day , Scripture Union party at Hope community  High School, our children had fun with me and the mothers whom i went with to visit them.
Our candidate children (Christine, Brenda, and Sam) are progressing well, and they were preparing for their mock exams in the next 2weeks.

Away from High School,
Children had a day of blasting fun in the National Agriculture Show at the Source of the Nile Show grounds in Jinja. It was so amazing to have glances of both domestic and wild Animals in one place, all sorts of crops, and countless different exhibitors.
We had looks and feels of Animals, even those children just dreamt of seeing like the Python, Leopard, Tortoise, Ostrich, Peacock, Lioness and many others. This was a fun and learning experience, though most the children feared getting nearer to the Wild animals.
There was an amusement park where i took some to have more extra fun on the electric swing, this was also a record broken for all.. ,It was an amazing day and every child was given a chance to buy whatever they felt like for a snack lunch and this was crowned by Ice creams as seems it's a VOH rule when children are taken out , its the climax of a joyful outing..,,,,.....Special thanks go to all those who made this happen and the mothers who helped me to guide this very big in the show grounds.
Blessings

Village of Hope with YWAM Team

It's a little tight schedule here at Village of Hope with the YWAM team which is more mission oriented with out reaches,,. Nevertheless, everything is going on well and everyone is happy with the team.
Andrew has been with us for 2weeks and he's now Home in AUS, we thank you for the great time we had with you and for accepting God to use you in his ministry,.......we pray that it all goes well as God desires it to be.
With the Team from Netherlands, we must say we are blessed to be with such amazing people who love to serve God. They have blessed our children, mothers and other people in the village and have been and still are a blessing to the community through outreaches organized by Pr George.
Our Teenage Girls are being taught  in different areas like identity, sexuality and the training is still going on for 8weeks , the time they will be with us.
The team is also involved in the slum ministry and they are doing great work praying and blessing families ,But they are so much touched by the situation people are living in where some reach the extent of shedding tears.  We now planning for the prison visit next week on Thursday , and continue with our routine programmes for the 8weeks of this team.
All our beloved ones out there, we always say thank you for the great work you're doing, we continue to pray for Gods provision and the Healthy stay in Uganda..

Hello There',
Here in Uganda, we began our second term studies last week, and as i write, all Village of Hope Children are in School in their respective levels with all scholastic s paid... Many thanks to God for using his people endeavoring to see children having a bright future.
All children are happy to be back to school and promise to perform better than last term,'We thank God for the good health while in Holidays and pray for the same this term.

About CHILDREN still, every 16/ June of each year, we celebrate the Day of the African Child in commemoration of children who died in Soweto South Africa who were advocating for their rights. For Jinja District, Uganda Hope Builders International was chosen to be on the organizing committee and arrange for presentations at Help International Project in Walukuba Masese. We accepted to be and of course organized our Children for presentations in forme of songs and poem relating to the year's Theme: Protecting the Rights of Children  A call For Action to ALL.
The occasion was graced by a number of dignitaries from Local Government like the LC5 Chairperson, who heads Jinja District, the Mayor ,R D C(Office of the President) and many others,..A big number of Children from Schools and NGOs' with a band leading the procession.
Our children's presentations were very impressive with the help of Jinja Christian School's Teachers Rachael and Jessica, in the training, we managed to present the best poem related to the theme.  Also our Hope Builders and After School Club Uniforms were admired by many,!!!

That was our day yesterday and made it to the village at 3;00PM with Joy...........Thanks to every Hope Builder

We continue to pray for you all and your families, we are praying for every activity geared to avail support to the  vulnerable, we have been praying for this year's Go the Extra Mile Walk since we had about it, and today we're to have an Over Night prayer meeting of all village of Hope staff and children specifically for Saturday's event. We believe the whole walk will be a success, we pray for good healthy, weather and targeted finishing for all the participants.

Back at V.O.H, we've had a good time, Children are well and its end of Term 1 Examinations time though some have completed, already enjoying their holidays... We thank God for the good care and pray for excellence in the exams.
Our mothers are also well and this time are more enthusiastic to serve the Lord ,more united, and happy to be part of Hope Builders. Mama Juliet is also getting along with the mothers' responsibilities in House 2 and we believe she'll be able to handle.
The management team is thankful for the support extended to enable them perform their duties and it's seeing a remarkable change in the Village's looks in the Houses, Children and the entire Home stead as a whole. With now a total of 13 houses, we've moved an extra mile in bringing Hope to the Vulnerable a midst challenges BUT the Lord has been and still on our side.
The Village looks more beautiful with more Green cover, trees and flowers growing well, bringing a more conducive environment for everyone..........Thanks to everyone who makes sure that this happens.
